Job summary

Unknown Engineering Group seeks an experienced Contracts Manager to take full ownership of the commercial and contractual management of a large-scale earthworks project at a major mining operation in Zambia.

Responsibilities include managing the commercial lifecycle, valuations, claims, and final accounts, with leadership of site teams and coordination with clients and suppliers. NEC/FIDIC/GCC knowledge is essential.

Qualifications

• 15+ years experience in civil construction.
• 3–5 years in a Contracts Manager or Senior Site Agent role.
• Proven experience on large earthworks, dam, road, mining, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with contract management, valuations, claims, variations and final accounts.

An established engineering and construction group operating across Africa is seeking an

experienced Contracts Manager to take full ownership of the commercial and contractual

management of a large-scale earthworks project based at a major mining operation in Zambia.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full commercial lifecycle of the contract from mobilisation through to final account.
• Prepare and submit monthly payment applications, cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Maintain and manage variation registers, compensation events and contractual claims.
• Monitor project performance against programme, budget and contractual obligations.
• Lead commercial engagements with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Provide leadership to Site Agents, Quantity Surveyors and administrative teams.

Experience

• 15+ years' experience in civil construction.
• Minimum 3-5 years in a Contracts Manager or Senior Site Agent role.
• Proven experience on large earthworks, dam, road, mining, or infrastructure projects.
• Strong exposure to contract management, valuations, claims, variations and final accounts.
• Experience working on remote or camp-based projects in Africa will be highly advantageous.

Technical Knowledge

• Strong working knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, JBCC or GCC contract forms.
• Sound cost management and commercial reporting experience.
• Knowledge of bulk earthworks, dam construction and mining infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, CCS, MS Project and/or Primavera.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or BEng in Civil Engineering (essential).
• NEC training/accreditation advantageous.
