Job summary

The General Manager - Construction & Heavy Industry will lead the division with full P&L accountability across multiple African markets. You will set strategic direction, drive operational excellence, and ensure delivery of large-scale civil, mechanical, and electrical projects on time and within budget.

You will build and retain a high-performing leadership team, oversee business development, and engage with governments, DFIs, and key clients to extend the division's footprint.

Qualifications

• Senior experience in construction, civil engineering, or heavy industry at executive level.
• Proven ability to own P&L and deliver strong financial performance.
• Experience operating across multiple African markets with understanding of local environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across civil works, mechanical & electrical, plant operations, and equipment management.
• Take full ownership of P&L, drive revenue growth, margin optimization, and cost control.
• Lead delivery of complex, multi-country projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget execution and high HSE standards.
• Build, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team.
• Drive business development activities, including securing new projects, partnerships, and contracts.
• Represent the organization at senior government and institutional levels.
