Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a strategic and results-oriented General Manager to oversee a major sports and recreation facility in Bloemfontein. This executive role covers operations, financial oversight, and the development of long-range strategy, including sports programming, member services, marketing, and staff leadership.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Sports Management (MBA preferred) and have 8+ years' progressive management experience in sports

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, or related field.
• MBA preferred.
• 8+ years in sports facility operations, recreation management, or hospitality with P&L responsibility.
• Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve revenue and profitability goals.
• Oversee all facility operations, including sports leagues, fitness programs, event management, and daily maintenance.
• Manage and mentor the facility's management team and staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Develop and manage the annual operating budget, financial reporting, and cost control measures.
• Drive membership growth through effective marketing strategies and exceptional member engagement.
• Lead a premier sports and recreation hub in Bloemfontein.
