Salary: R30,000 – R40,000 negotiable, depending on experience (live-out)

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations of a luxury retreat and spa. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-end hospitality, exceptional leadership abilities, and a passion for creating memorable dining experiences.

Key responsibilities:

• Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
• Develop innovative menus that reflect the establishment’s standards and cater to diverse guest preferences.
• Lead; train and motivate the kitchen team to maintain excellent performance.
• Manage food costs, stock control, purchasing and supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and health regulations.
• Monitor kitchen budgets and implement effective cost-control measures.
• Collaborate with management and front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service.
• Maintain consistency and creativity across all menus and dining experiences.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an Executive Chef or in a senior kitchen leadership role within a luxury hotel, lodge or retreat.
• Strong culinary skills and a passion for quality ingredients and creative menu development.
• Proven experience managing, training and motivating a kitchen team.
• Excellent knowledge of food costing, budgeting, stock control and kitchen operations.
• A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• The ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining high standards.
