Job summary

Habari Media in Cape Town is seeking an organised, energetic Events & Marketing Coordinator to join our team. The role covers coordinating events, activations, client campaigns and marketing initiatives from planning through to execution.

You will manage event logistics, support large campaigns, collaborate with Sales, Editorial, Design, Digital and external suppliers, and contribute creative ideas while maintaining schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Events, Marketing, Communications, Media, PR or related field.
• Previous experience in events, marketing, campaign coordination or a similar role.
• Media, publishing, advertising or agency experience would be advantageous.
• Experience with social media management and content planning.
• Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute company and client events, launches, activations and promotional initiatives.
• Manage event logistics including venues, suppliers, catering, branding, guest lists, RSVPs, itineraries, collateral, set‑up and on‑site execution.
• Manage and assist with large key account campaigns, including planning, scheduling, bookings, content requirements and shoots where necessary.
• Coordinate campaigns across Sales, Editorial, Design, Digital, Production and external suppliers to ensure deadlines and client requirements are met.
• Provide creative ideas for campaigns, activations and marketing initiatives.
• Manage campaign and marketing calendars, timelines and deliverables.
• Prepare and maintain Excel budgets, campaign costings, quotations and expenditure tracking.
• Assist with compiling campaign statistics and prepare clear, professionally presented client reporting decks.
• Coordinate promotional presentations, marketing collateral and campaign logistics.
• Assist with marketing and advertising strategies, plans and objectives.
• Conduct market research and identify relevant media, marketing and consumer trends.
• Own and manage Habari Media's social media accounts, including content planning, messaging, creative coordination, posting and brand exposure.
• Be at the forefront of activations and ensure professional execution from planning through to completion.
