Job summary

JA Solar is seeking a field-based ESS commissioning and maintenance engineer in South Africa to lead on-site delivery of ESS projects, perform installation guidance, commissioning and acceptance, and diagnose faults. You will collaborate with R&D and commercial teams, provide on-site customer support, document delivery progress, and travel regionally as required.

A Bachelor's in electrical engineering and 5+ years of ESS experience are essential; fluent English is mandatory, additional languages

Qualifications

Based in South Africa with regional travel.
5+ years ESS commissioning/O&M experience with strong electrical fundamentals.
Bachelor's in electrical engineering or related field; fluent English; additional German/French/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead on-site delivery of ESS projects: installation guidance, commissioning, and acceptance.
Perform routine and corrective maintenance; diagnose and resolve system faults.
Support customers on-site, provide technical consultation, and collect feedback.
Coordinate with internal R&D and commercial teams to solve technical issues and optimize solutions.
Prepare delivery and service documentation; report work progress regularly.
