Job summary

RPO Recruitment’s client in the Northern Cape urgently seeks an Environmental Officer to identify, evaluate and control environmental risks while promoting sustainable practices. The role requires 5 years of mine environmental experience and 3 years in integrated risk management, with a relevant diploma and a mine rehabilitation certificate. Salary negotiable based on experience.

Qualifications

• National Diploma/Degree in Environmental Management is required.
• Certificate in Mine Rehabilitation and Closure is preferred.
• 5 years operational Mine Environmental related field experience.
• 3 years operational Integrated Risk Management System experience.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical knowledge to identify and evaluate environmental risks.
• Oversee waste management and monitoring of water and dust.
• Maintain working knowledge of environmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with SHERQ and environmental legislation.
• Support risk assessments and root cause analyses.
• Assist with compliance audits and policy updates.
