We are lookingfor an Infrastructure Engineer at Entry level to join our InfrastructureEngineering team.
The role focuseson supporting and maintaining highly available, secure and resilient Linuxsolutions for critical production environments and applications. You will workprimarily with Linux operating systems, automation, configuration management,scripting and infrastructure tooling. The role provides an opportunity todevelop your technical expertise while working alongside experiencedinfrastructure, cloud, security and application teams.
The idealcandidate will have a strong foundation in Linux and automation, a willingnessto learn, and an interest in infrastructure engineering, DevOps and cloudtechnologies.
KeyResponsibilities
- Design,develop and maintain Linux client platforms across office and productionenvironments.
- Supportthe implementation and continuous improvement of Linux platform functionalitybased on business and operational requirements.
- Developand maintain Linux base images, software packages and configuration standards.
- EnsureLinux platforms comply with security, hardening and regulatory requirements.
- Performvulnerability assessments and assist with implementing remediation activities.
- Install,configure, administer and support Linux systems across physical, virtual andcloud environments, including AWS.
- Monitorsystem performance and availability and assist with troubleshootinginfrastructure issues.
- Automatedeployment, configuration and operational processes using appropriateautomation tools.
- Developand maintain scripts to improve infrastructure efficiency and reliability.
- ManageLinux system updates, patches and lifecycle activities.
- SupportIncident, Problem and Change Management processes for dedicated IT services.
- Maintainaccurate technical documentation, knowledge base articles, CMDB records andoperational procedures.
- Ensureadherence to operational standards, security policies and compliancerequirements.
- TrackJira user stories and operational tasks and ensure activities are deliveredwithin agreed timelines.
- Workwithin an Agile environment and collaborate with infrastructure, cloud,security and application teams.
- Participatein operational meetings and contribute to continuous service improvementinitiatives.
- Participate in on callsupport and weekend maintenance activities when required.
Requirements
- Strongexperience with Unix and Linux operating systems, particularly Ubuntu, Red Hatand SUSE.
- Strongexperience with Ansible Automation and Ansible Tower.
- Strongscripting experience using Bash, Perl or Python.
- Strongexperience with GitHub and GitOps repositories.
- Knowledgeof system monitoring tools such as Grafana or similar platforms.
- Knowledgeof backup solutions.
- Understandingof secure coding practices and Configuration as Code.
- Solidunderstanding of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, SSH and TCP/IP.
- Understandingof proxy configuration.
AdvantageousSkills
- Linuxor infrastructure certifications such as RHCSA, RHCA or SUSE certifications.
- Experiencewith Veritas Infoscale or similar High Availability technologies.
- Knowledgeof Rudder or similar configuration management platforms.
- Experienceworking within an Agile environment.
- Knowledgeof virtualisation technologies such as VMware.
- Knowledgeof Private Cloud solutions.

Qualificationsand Experience
- Degreeor relevant qualification in Information Systems, Computer Science, InformationTechnology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimumof 2 years IT operations experience.
- Minimumof 2 years configuration management and automation experience.
- StrongLinux administration experience, particularly with RHEL, Ubuntu or SLES.
- Strongcoding and scripting experience, particularly Bash, Python or PowerShell.
- Experiencewith cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- Strongunderstanding of version control systems, particularly GitHub.
- ServiceNowexperience would be advantageous.
- Dynatraceexperience would be advantageous.
- RedHat Satellite experience would be advantageous.
- Linuxcertification such as RHCSA would be advantageous.
- Ansible certification suchas RHCE would be advantageous.
