Job summary

Ematech is seeking a skilled Systems Developer to design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade software for clients across private, public and non-profit sectors. You will work across the full development lifecycle — from requirements analysis to deployment and post-implementation support.

You will design robust applications, build RESTful APIs, and collaborate with project managers while adhering to best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree at NQF Level 7 or higher (BSc Computer Science, BEng, BCom IT or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years of professional software development experience
• Accreditation with IITPSA or equivalent SA IT board is a strong added advantage
• Portfolio of completed projects or GitHub profile preferred

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust, scalable enterprise applications and internal business systems
• Analyse client requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architecture
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and system integrations
• Conduct unit testing, integration testing and code reviews
• Maintain technical documentation and system manuals
• Provide second-line support for deployed systems and resolve production issues
• Collaborate with project managers and clients during requirements and delivery phases
• Participate in agile sprint planning and retrospectives
