The League of Companies is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect for a 12-month contract with a large, established manufacturing organisation based in Springs, Gauteng.
This is a true Enterprise Architecture role. We are looking for someone who can operate across the organisation’s business and technology landscape, establish enterprise-wide architecture direction, and ensure that technology investment, platforms and transformation initiatives remain aligned to business strategy.
The successful candidate will work across a complex environment spanning enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, data, integration, digital platforms and operational technology.
Key responsibilities

- Develop and govern current-state, transition-state and target-state architectures
- Translate business strategy and capabilities into enterprise technology direction and investment priorities
- Establish and maintain enterprise architecture governance, standards and decision frameworks
- Drive alignment across applications, data, integration, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity and technology platforms
- Assess the existing technology landscape and identify duplication, technical debt, architectural risk and rationalisation opportunities
- Develop technology roadmaps supporting modernisation, transformation and business growth
- Guide major technology initiatives to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture principles
- Evaluate strategic technology platforms, architectural options and vendor solutions
- Facilitate architecture decisions across business, IT, security, data, infrastructure and operational teams
- Support application and technology portfolio optimisation
- Ensure interoperability and integration across legacy and modern platforms
- Provide architectural oversight across major programmes and transformation initiatives
- Maintain enterprise architecture artefacts, models, principles and standards
- Work closely with senior business and technology stakeholders to ensure architecture enables measurable business outcomes
What we are looking for
- 10+ years’ experience across enterprise architecture and senior technology architecture roles
- Demonstrable experience operating specifically as an Enterprise Architect within a large, complex organisation
- Strong understanding of business, application, data, integration, infrastructure and security architecture
- Experience developing enterprise-wide target architectures and multi-year technology roadmaps
- Strong architecture governance and technology portfolio management experience
- Experience working across complex ERP, CRM and enterprise application environments
- Sound understanding of cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data platforms, APIs and integration architectures
- Experience assessing legacy environments and defining modernisation and rationalisation strategies
- Ability to engage credibly with CIO-level stakeholders, business executives, programme teams and technical specialists
- Strong commercial and business understanding — not technology architecture in isolation
- Experience within *manufacturing, industrial or similarly complex enterprise environments* would be highly advantageous
- *TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification would be advantageous
