Job summary

Amazon is hiring a Solutions Architect for South Africa, engaging with enterprise customers across industries to transform their business using AI and cloud technologies. You will assess portfolios, design cloud-native architectures, and partner with AWS teams to address business problems and accelerate AWS adoption.

The role requires broad technical competency across AI, infrastructure, security, DevOps, data analytics, and strong ability to connect technology with measurable business value.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience.
• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience.
• 5+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience.

Responsibilities

• In partnership with the Business Development team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS
• As a key member of the solutions architecture team, ensure success in building, migrating and modernising applications, software and services on the AWS cloud and AI platform
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS (i.e Dev Days or Immersion Days)
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS Solutions Architect community
• Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white papers
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, Service Teams and Support
