Job summary

AWS South Africa is hiring a Solutions Architect to work with South African enterprise customers across industries to transform their business with AI and cloud technologies. You will assess application portfolios, design cloud-native architectures, and partner with AWS teams to create solutions that address business problems and accelerate adoption of AWS services.

The role requires broad technical competence across Generative AI, infrastructure, security, DevOps, databases and data analytics,

Qualifications

• 4+ years in software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking or data & analytics.
• 2+ years in design, implementation or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• 5+ years in IT development or implementation/consulting in software or Internet industries.

Responsibilities

• In partnership with the Business Development team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of AWS
• As a key member of the solutions architecture team, ensure success in building, migrating and modernising applications, software and services on the AWS cloud and AI platform
• Educate customers on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
• Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS (i.e Dev Days or Immersion Days)
• Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS Solutions Architect community
• Contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as white papers
• Act as a technical liaison between customers, Service Teams and Support
