Job summary

Stethoscope SA is seeking an Enrolled Nurse responsible for direct and indirect nursing care under supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role covers assessment, perioperative support, and maintaining sterile operating room standards in line with SANC, DOH and National Core standards.

You will assist the scrub nurse, monitor patients pre- and post-operatively, manage stock, adhere to infection control, document care plans, and contribute to a safe, patient-centred environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled Nurse qualification and SANC registration are mandatory.
• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualification is required.
• Minimum of 5 years as an enrolled nurse assistant.
• Post-Op nursing experience is essential.
• Experience in a private hospital environment is advantageous.
• Knowledge of Infection Control & Prevention is expected.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and judgement abilities.
• Resilience and composure under pressure are necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Be active in preparing, controlling and replenishment of stock.

Job description

We are searching for an Enrolled Nurse who will be responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of a patient or group of patients and will function under the direct and/ or indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.

The Enrolled Nurse will be responsible for assessment and care as well as the needs of patients and will be responsible for assisting the scrub nurse during operations and keeping the operating room sterile.

The Enrolled Nurse will perform nursing duties in accordance with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), Department of Health (DOH) and National Core standards.
