Afrique Connection Consultancy invites applications for an Enrolled Nurse to support clinical research activities at our Durban site. The role involves coordinating informed consent, conducting examinations, collecting samples, and counselling patients in HIV care.

We require a Grade 12 with Nursing Certificate as an Enrolled Nurse, SANC registration, and at least 2 years' HIV/ARV and phlebotomy experience. Fluency in English is essential; isiZulu is preferred.

Qualificações

• HIV/AIDS counselling qualification.

About the role

Our client, an award-winning global research organisation conducting HIV, TB and Covid-19 research at four clinical research sites in KwaZulu-Natal, is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Enrolled Nurse to support clinical research activities in Durban. Its work contributes to understanding HIV vaccines and pathogenesis, prevention and epidemiology, and the links between TB and AIDS treatment. This is a 3-month contract with a possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct the informed consent process.
• Perform clinical examinations and sample collection.
• Perform HIV/AIDS counselling.
• Facilitate receipt of laboratory results and transcribe them onto case report forms.
• Stock control and administration.
• Grade 12 with a Nursing Certificate as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse.

• Knowledge and experience of the treatment, care and management of HIV and STIs
