Job summary

Valterra Platinum is seeking a Learning Officer to co-design, implement and evaluate training programs across safety, technical skills and leadership within our mining operation. You will facilitate sessions (e-learning, classroom, on-the-job) and collaborate with external trainers to meet needs and regulatory standards.

You will ensure documentation, monitor effectiveness, and align activities with SAQA/MQA requirements while keeping up-to-date with industry changes.

Qualifications

• NQF5 OD ETDP Level 5 Higher Certificate and Grade 12 are required.
• Trade Certificate (Electrical or Millwright) and Assessor/Moderator certificates are preferred.
• Medium Voltage MQA Certificate and ISO 9001:2015 accreditation are advantageous.
• Engineering Foreman certificate and a valid EB/Code 08 licence are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Co-design, implement and evaluate training programs for safety, technical skills, leadership and regulatory compliance.
• Facilitate training sessions via e-learning, classroom and on-the-job methods and coordinate external trainers.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and ensure compliance with MQA and SAQA standards.
• Maintain training records and report on program outcomes for regulatory purposes.
• Stay updated on legislation and regulatory changes affecting mining learning and development.
