Job summary

SLR Consulting is offering an internship opportunity in Johannesburg for 2027, supporting Civil & Infrastructure and Geotechnical Engineering teams. The role requires a BSc(Eng) or BEng in Civil, and willingness to travel across South Africa and possibly Africa for short durations.

You’ll assist with planning, design, and site activities, while gaining hands-on experience and exposure to projects across a leading environmental and advisory solutions firm.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a BSc(Eng) or BEng in Civil Engineering.
• Willingness to travel to sites around South Africa and potentially Africa for short durations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and administrative support to the Civil Engineering team.
• Assist with project planning, design, and execution activities.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, and field investigations.
• Support the preparation of reports, drawings, calculations, and project documentation.
• Assist with data collection, analysis, and engineering assessments.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of engineering projects while gaining practical industry experience.
