Job summary

The Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) invites applications for an Engineer: CSIR Equipment and Machinery in Pretoria. The role operates within the Facilities Management and Security Services (FM&SS) to ensure maintenance, compliance and safe operation of CSIR equipment across the organization.

You will lead maintenance programs, manage budgets, oversee sub-contractor activities and drive engineering standards, risk assessments and change management in a complex manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor or B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years¿ experience in Equipment and Machinery Management.
• Experience with OHSACT, Sub-contractor management and project budgeting.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations and change management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering team within FM&SS to develop and implement operational plans.
• Develop and maintain CSIR Machinery compliance registers.
• Plan, coordinate and manage maintenance for CSIR equipment and machinery for up to 5 years.
