Job summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking an Engine Workshop/Field Service Technician - Apprentice in Northern Cape (Postmasburg area) to support workshop and field service activities. The role emphasizes learning standard repair times, safety, proper documentation, and hands-on maintenance of mechanical and electrical components.

You’ll gain practical experience through structured training aligned with business needs. Successful candidates will have a National Senior Certificate (Matric) and pursue N6/N2/N3

Qualifications

• NSC/Matric with Grade 12 from SA government system.
• N6 Mechanical Engineering with four subjects including Maths, Mechanotechnics, Mechanical Drawing & Design, Power Machines or related fields.
• N2/N3 Engineering studies with Maths and Engineering subjects.

Responsibilities

• Assist workshop and field service tasks to support Cummins service operations.
• Learn repair techniques and follow Standard Repair Times to perform basic repairs.
• Assist with documentation such as work completed forms and time sheets for accurate records.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper operation of tools and equipment.
• Report issues or incidents to supervisor for continuous improvement.
