Job summary

GAS Accounting is seeking a Payroll Administrator to oversee accurate, timely payroll processing for a portfolio of clients in South Africa. The role requires ownership of client data, strong communication with clients and colleagues, and strict adherence to SARS and statutory requirements.

You will handle end-to-end payroll processing across weekly, bi-weekly and monthly cycles, support process improvement, and contribute to a high-quality payroll service from GAS.

Qualifications

• Matric (Grade 12) is required.
• Diploma or Certificate in Payroll Administration, Accounting or related field is advantageous.
• 2–4 years' end-to-end payroll experience is required.
• Experience with an outsourced payroll environment is preferred.
• Experience using SimplePay or a similar payroll system.
• Practical experience with SARS eFiling, uFiling, EasyFile and statutory submissions.

Responsibilities

• Payroll processing across a portfolio of client accounts (monthly, weekly, bi-weekly and ad hoc).
• Manage client employee data, changes and inputs independently.
• Ensure compliance with SARS PAYE, EMP201/EMP501, IRP5/IT3(a), UIF, SDL, ETI, COIDA.
• Act as the point of contact for client payroll queries.
• Collaborate within the Payroll Team to meet client deadlines.
• Identify discrepancies and contribute to process improvement across the portfolio.
