Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a compassionate Family Support Practitioner in George, Western Cape. You will work with families to strengthen wellbeing, resilience and safe child outcomes through counselling, practical support and linking to community resources.

Key duties: assess needs, develop support plans, facilitate parenting skills, coordinate with social workers and healthcare providers, lead group sessions, maintain confidential notes and respond to crises.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in a relevant field is required.
• Experience delivering family support or counselling.
• Knowledge of child development and family systems.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess family needs and develop support plans.
• Provide counselling and emotional support to families.
• Facilitate positive parenting skills and strategies.
• Coordinate with social workers, educators and healthcare providers.
• Lead family group sessions and monitor progress.
• Maintain confidential case notes and reports.
• Respond to crisis situations with immediate support.
