Job summary

JMH (Pty) Ltd in Durban is seeking an Emergency Nurse to deliver safe and effective care within the SANC framework. You will assess patients, plan care, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

The role requires 1-2 years in trauma/outpatient settings, strong clinical decision making, and the ability to work shifts including nights and weekends. POPIA-compliant, patient-focused care is essential.

Qualifications

• Registered with South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 1-2 years clinical experience in a Trauma or Outpatient setting.
• Competence in patient assessment, clinical decision making and emergency intervention.
• Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work day and night shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Work strictly within the SANC defined Scope of Practice. (R686 and R2598)
• Initiate and support emergency treatment including resuscitations according to Scope of Practice and Protocols.
• Coordinate patient care within the multidisciplinary team and act as a patient advocate.
• Adhere to legal, health, safety, infection control and clinical standards.
• Participate in quality improvement, risk management, and resource management.
• Provide supervision, guidance and support to staff within the unit.
