Job summary

WSP South Africa is hiring a senior ELV & ICT engineer to lead design, implementation and close-out of Building Controls, CCTV, Access Control, BMS, and fibre network infrastructure. You will apply Autodesk BIM tools and coordinate with Building Services to deliver integrated solutions.

The ideal candidate has a minimum BTech in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, at least 5 years post-graduation experience in ELV/ICT design, and a strong grip on Revit, ACC and CAD.

Qualifications

• A minimum BTech degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
• SAQCC registration is advantageous.
• At least 5 years post-graduation electronic services engineering experience.
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience in ELV & ICT Designs for Building Services.
• Good understanding of Revit and ACC; Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide consulting engineering for design, implementation and close-out of Building Controls & ICT & ELV systems.
• Coordinate with Building Services and other disciplines on projects.
• Apply Autodesk BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD) in design and documentation.
• Manage small to mid-size projects and ensure timelines and quality.

A little more about your role

• Providing a consulting engineering service for the design, implementation and close-out of Building Controls & Telecommunications infrastructure as well as ICT & ELV (Extra Low Voltage) systems. The systems typically comprise of the following:
• CCTV Monitoring & Recording Systems
• Access Control Systems
• Structured Cabling design with broad based knowledge of network and IT related equipment
• Building Management Systems (BMS)
• Fibre Optic Network design including Ethernet and GPON solution architecture
• High Performance Computing & Storage Server hardware is advantageous
• Project Management and Coordination with other Building Services
• Knowledge and experience with Autodesk BIM (Revit, Navisworks, Glue, Field, etc.) and CAD software (Advantageous)

This role comprises of a wholistic ELV & ICT consulting spectrum from inception, detail design, documentation and procurement, construction, site monitoring and project closeout. This role will comprise of predominantly Controls & Telecoms, but ICT Services and ELV Engineering Services experience will be advantageous.

About You

We're looking for someone who is equally passionate about technical excellence and digital innovation. You'll bring:

• A minimum BTech degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
• SAQCC registration is advantageous
• A minimum of 5 years post-graduation electronic services engineering experience required
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• An experience related to ELV & ICT Designs in Building Services.
• A good understanding and working knowledge of Revit and ACC.
• Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng eligible for registration will be advantageous
