Job summary

Skills Connector in Pretoria seeks a skilled Electrical Technician with 3+ years in the food manufacturing sector. You will install, maintain and repair electrical systems, diagnose faults, and ensure compliance with SANS 10142-1 standards.

Proficiency with 24Vdc–400VAC systems and Siemens PLC IO tracing is essential. The role requires an NQF Level 4/Matric, N3 Electrical Engineering, and a Trade Tested Artisan with MV switching training.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in FOOD MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY.
• Experience working on voltages from 24Vdc to 400VAC.
• Experience with major VSD brands (Danfoss VLT, Siemens G120, Delta V).
• Experience tracing IO on Siemens PLCs.
• Competent with multimeters and Meggers; SANS 10142-1 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment.
• Perform fault finding and diagnostics on electrical breakdowns.
• Carry out planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Test electrical systems using appropriate tools and instruments.
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes and regulations.
• Assist with commissioning of new equipment and modifications.
• Maintain maintenance records and CMMS job cards.
• Adhere to Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and follow lock out/tag out procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions and incidents; maintain tools safely.

• NQF Level 4 Grade 12 or Matric Equivalent
• N3 Electrical Engineering and Trade Tested Artisan
• 3 phase Installation Electrician License, MV
  switching authorized persons training

Non-Negotiable Experience/Knowledge:

• 3 + Years of experience in FOOD MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY
