Job summary

Scatec in Kenhardt, Northern Cape, is seeking an Electrician to modify, troubleshoot, test, repair and maintain all plant electrical equipment and systems. You will execute switching, isolation, safety testing, earthing and LOTO in line with ORHVS and PSR authorization levels.

You will conduct OEM-specific preventative and corrective maintenance on BESS, PV systems, and related electrical equipment, monitor BESS systems, and coordinate with maintenance contractors while ensuring HSSE compliance.

Qualifications

• N3 Qualification.
• Qualified Electrician and ORHVS qualification.
• Registered 3 phase installation electrician (SANS 10142); not single-phase tester.
• 5+ years Electrical experience - AC & DC electrical systems.
• Proven experience on MV & HV equipment troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to take ownership of electrical systems on the plant.
• High Voltage Switching and Solar PV Plant experience.
• Maintain Transformers and Switchgear and assist with reporting and HSSE inspections.

Responsibilities

• Interpret schematics, inspect, identify defects, and implement corrective actions for reliability.
• Complete safety documentation and ensure HSSE compliance and site procedures.
• Capture and report maintenance activities on CMMS; support audits and SOP improvements.
