Job summary

Lucy Electric in Johannesburg is seeking a hands-on Test Technician to ensure quality and conformance of electrical products through rigorous testing, including both incoming goods and on-site field work.

You will read schematics, run tests, compile reports, and assist engineering, QA, and maintenance teams. A Red Seal or equivalent trade test is preferred, with 2–3 years of factory/testing experience. This role is on-site in Johannesburg with opportunities for hands-on growth.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience in testing/warehouse (Factory) work or similar.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• MS Office/Excel proficiency.
• Team player with strong analytical skills.
• Electrical Trade Test (Red Seal) required.

Responsibilities

• Testing against project scopes and adaptations.
• Understanding and testing relay schematics.
• Leading product failure investigations.
• Reporting findings to the Quality Manager.
• Product repairs.
• Product Testing Factory Acceptance Testing when required.
• Provide test reports.
• Ensure housekeeping in the work area.
• Collaborate with QMS Manager/Representative.
• Incoming product testing.
• Product testing before dispatch.
• Assist Engineering/Technical/Contract Team with daily tasks.
• Ad-hoc tasks from Management.
