Placements24 in Benoni is seeking a qualified Electrical Technician to support power distribution operations. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical infrastructure to ensure reliable supply for residential and commercial customers, working safely in a team.

The role requires a National Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Trade Test as Electrician, and at least 5 years of experience with high‑voltage systems.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Trade Test certification as Electrician.
• Minimum of 5 years in electrical power distribution or related field.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and high-voltage equipment.
• Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and tools.
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical distribution equipment, including transformers, switchgear, and overhead/underground lines.
• Perform routine inspections and testing of electrical systems to identify potential faults or safety hazards.
• Respond to power outages and emergency calls, diagnosing and resolving electrical issues efficiently.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations, company standards, and electrical codes.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
