Placements24 seeks an Electrical Systems Engineer to lead the design and implementation of robust electrical systems for diverse industrial and commercial projects in Durban. The role combines detailed engineering work with remote support, focusing on reliability, efficiency, and safety of electrical infrastructure.

You will perform load calculations, select components, and oversee installation, commissioning, and testing while ensuring compliance with SANS/IEC standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-8 years of professional experience in electrical systems design and engineering.
• Proficiency with ETAP, Revit MEP, or other electrical design software.
• Solid understanding of electrical codes and standards (SANS, IEC).
• Experience with PLC programming and SCADA systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed electrical system designs, including single-line diagrams, wiring schedules, and control logic.
• Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and protection coordination studies.
• Select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials based on project specifications and industry best practices.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and testing of electrical systems, providing on-site support as needed.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in electrical systems and implement effective corrective actions remotely.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including design revisions, test reports, and as-built drawings.
