Talent Fox SA in Durban is seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician (Light Current) to ensure the reliability, safety and optimal performance of automated, high‑speed packaging lines and production equipment.

You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose electrical and instrumentation faults, troubleshoot PLCs, SCADA and HMI systems, calibrate weighing and level sensors, interpret drawings and contribute to root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement, while

Formación

• Trade test in light current electrical engineering.
• Hands-on experience maintaining automated production equipment.
• Experience with form, fill and seal machines, checkweighers and autobalers.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA/HMI systems, MCCs and VSDs.
• Strong electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Experience in root cause analysis and preventative maintenance.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Experience in food manufacturing or high-speed packaging advantageous.

Responsabilidades

• Perform preventative maintenance, servicing and emergency repairs on automated packing lines.
• Troubleshoot and maintain FFS machines, autobalers and checkweighers.
• Diagnose electrical/instrumentation faults to minimise downtime.
• Troubleshoot and work with PLCs, SCADA and HMI systems.
• Maintain MCCs and VSDs; calibrate weighing and level sensors.
• Interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ, food safety, permit-to-work and LOTO procedures.
• Complete maintenance job cards accurately and timeously.

WE'RE HIRING: ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN (LIGHT CURRENT)

An established organisation within the manufacturing industry is seeking an experienced, hands-on Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to ensure the reliability, safety and optimal performance of automated, high-speed packing lines and production equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform preventative maintenance, servicing and emergency breakdown repairs on automated packing lines.
• Troubleshoot and maintain form, fill and seal (FFS) machines, autobalers and checkweighers.
• Diagnose electrical and instrumentation faults to minimise production downtime.
• Troubleshoot and work with PLCs, SCADA and HMI systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot motor control centres (MCCs) and variable speed drives (VSDs).
• Calibrate and configure weighing, level measurement and other instrumentation systems.
• Interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ, food safety, permit-to-work and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Complete maintenance job cards accurately and timeously.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Trade Test in Light Current Electrical Engineering – Essential.
• Hands-on experience maintaining and repairing automated production equipment.
• Experience with form, fill and seal machines, checkweighers and autobalers.
• Working knowledge of PLCs, SCADA/HMI systems, MCCs and VSDs.
• Strong electrical and instrumentation troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings.
• Experience in root cause analysis and preventative maintenance.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Experience in food manufacturing or high-speed packaging environments will be advantageous.
