Placements24 in Klerksdorp, North West, is seeking an experienced Electrical Grid Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of technicians responsible for the upkeep of substations, transmission lines and distribution networks. You will plan, schedule and oversee maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable power delivery and compliance with safety standards.

A National Diploma or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and at least six years in grid maintenance with two in supervision are required.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years in electrical grid maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of high-voltage systems, substations, and distribution networks.
• Familiarity with SCADA and grid management software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a team of electrical grid maintenance technicians.
• Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance schedules for substations, transmission lines, and distribution networks.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
• Oversee fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of electrical grid equipment.
• Coordinate with the operations center for planned and unplanned outages.
• Manage spare parts inventory and equipment lifecycle.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits.
• Provide technical guidance and training to team members.
• Prepare reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and team productivity.
• Participate in the on-call roster for emergency response.
