You will mentor students, collaborate with colleagues, and apply industry standards to curricula while maintaining academic integrity and supporting retention and progression.

Qualifications

• Honours in the relevant field of Engineering as a minimum requirement. A Masters will be a distinct advantage.
• Registered member at ECSA is highly advantageous, with staff development support available.
• At least 5+ years' experience in teaching and learning within the Higher Education environment.
• Ability to teach, develop content, and conduct assessments effectively.
• Familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols, and professional engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating student learning through interactive teaching that promotes engagement and supports the overall student learning experience.
• Setting, conducting, and grading assessments, providing timely, meaningful feedback.
• Contributing to programme and content development, including teaching resources and curriculum design.
• Undertaking relevant academic administration to ensure policy and timelines compliance.
• Ensuring a positive student experience through academic support, mentorship and strong customer service.
• Preparing briefs and marking schedules for projects with aims, outcomes, submission requirements, and references.
• Informing students of assessment methods in line with briefs and policy.
• Staying informed of developments in mechatronic engineering and HE teaching practice.
• Promoting student success by identifying at-risk learners and implementing interventions.
• Supporting retention and throughput through innovative teaching practices.
• Building communities of learning and practice within the department.
• Being approachable, fair, and professional, while upholding standards.
• Collaborating with colleagues across departments to strengthen teaching and student support.
