Job summary

Amatola Water invites a qualified electrical engineer to join our planning and design team in East London. You will lead electrical planning, design and development of water infrastructure and support asset management functions.

The role requires registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) and a minimum of 5 years in relevant environments such as water, utilities, or infrastructure. Occasional site travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BEng / BSc Eng / BTech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (NQF level 7).
• Postgraduate qualification in Electrical Eng, Asset Management or PM is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Electrical planning, design and development of water services infrastructure.
• Prepare feasibility inputs, load assessments, design criteria, calculations, layouts and reports for treatment works, substations and power distribution.
• Engineering support to operations and maintenance.
• Undertake condition assessments, investigations and reliability improvement initiatives for assets.
• Project specification and project management from initiation to handover.
• OHS, legal compliance and governance.
