Placements24 in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer focused on Renewable Energy to design, develop, and deploy solar, wind, and energy storage solutions.

You will work on grid integration, simulations, and BOMs, collaborating with teams and suppliers to drive projects from concept to commissioning while ensuring compliance with SA electrical standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with renewables preferred.
• Familiarity with solar PV system design, inverters, and energy storage technologies.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD Electrical and relevant simulation tools.
• Knowledge of South African electrical regulations and standards.
• Strong project management and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer electrical systems for renewable energy installations, including solar PV arrays and battery storage systems.
• Perform electrical calculations, simulations, and feasibility studies for new renewable energy projects.
• Develop detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and grid interconnection standards.
• Collaborate with project teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution from concept to completion.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases.
