Job summary

Christine Loopstra in Cape Town seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and manage building services and reticulation infrastructure from concept through to implementation.

The role covers HV/MV/LV distribution, standby power, lighting, earthing, lightning protection and integration of fire detection, CCTV, access control and BMS across residential and industrial projects; strong analytical and communication skills are required. ECSA registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• BTech or BSc/BEng degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5–7 years in consulting engineering focusing on building services and reticulation.
• ECSA registration as a Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng is preferred or progress toward registration.
• Strong engineering design and analysis software skills are expected.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical reticulation networks for residential and industrial developments.
• Manage HV, MV and LV power distribution systems and infrastructure planning.
• Design building electrical services, standby power, UPS, lighting, earthing and lightning protection.
• Integrate electronic systems such as fire detection, CCTV, access control, data/telecommunications and BMS.
• Oversee projects from concept to completion ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
