Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Design Drafter in Klerksdorp, North West, South Africa to produce detailed electrical drawings for residential and commercial projects. Hybrid work combines office collaboration with remote flexibility, and you will translate engineer concepts into constructible construction plans.

The role requires 3 years of relevant experience, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP, and a solid understanding of electrical systems and SANS standards.

Qualifications

• National Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Draughting.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrical Design Drafter, preferably in building services.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Understanding of electrical systems for residential and commercial buildings.
• Familiarity with SANS standards related to electrical installations.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy in drawings.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to adapt to hybrid work arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, including lighting layouts, power distribution, schematics, and panel schedules, using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Assist electrical engineers in the design process by creating and modifying drawings as required.
• Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building codes, SANS standards, and client specifications.
• Coordinate electrical drawings with architectural, structural, and mechanical plans.
• Create and manage the drawing register and ensure proper document control.
• Produce as-built drawings based on site information and engineer’s markups.
• Assist with the preparation of technical specifications and bill of quantities.
• Maintain consistency in drawing standards and office protocols.
• Collaborate effectively with engineers, project managers, and other disciplines.
• Perform site visits as required to gather information and verify installations.
