Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Design Drafter in Klerksdorp, North West, to produce detailed electrical drawings and schematics for industrial projects. You will translate concepts into compliant documentation, collaborating with Electrical Engineers and upholding drafting standards.

The role requires 3+ years' experience, proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, and reading electrical drawings. A hybrid in-office/remote setup offers flexibility while maintaining project momentum.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as an Electrical Drafter or Designer.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical is essential; Revit MEP a plus.
• Strong understanding of electrical symbols, conventions and drafting standards.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical engineering drawings and specs.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Produce electrical drawings, including single-line diagrams, schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Assist Electrical Engineers in the development of design documentation for industrial plants and facilities.
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
• Review and update existing electrical drawings based on site modifications or project changes.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to clarify design requirements.
• Maintain accurate and organized drawing files and revision control.
• Participate in design review meetings as required.
• Support the preparation of bill of materials (BOMs) based on electrical designs.
