Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a passionate ECD Facilitator to join our team in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will plan and deliver age-appropriate activities, foster holistic development, and ensure safe, nurturing care for children from birth to five years.

You will implement a play-based curriculum, assess progress, and collaborate with parents and staff to support each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. A 2+ year background in ECD and relevant qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Development, Education, or a related field (NQF Level 4/5 ECD).
• Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience as an ECD Facilitator or Teacher.
• Thorough understanding of child development theories and best practices in early years education.
• First Aid certification is a strong advantage.
• Must be based in or willing to commute regularly to Tembisa, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing engaging, play-based ECD curriculum and lesson plans.
• Creating a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment for young children.
• Observing and assessing children's development, identifying individual needs and progress.
• Providing individualized attention and support to children, fostering their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Managing classroom routines and ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
• Communicating effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress and development.
• Organizing and leading age-appropriate activities, including art, music, storytelling, and outdoor play.
• Collaborating with fellow educators and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to childcare.
• Maintaining a clean and organised classroom environment.
• Attending professional development workshops and training sessions relevant to ECD.
