Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Development (ECD) Facilitator to deliver essential training and support to parents, caregivers, and aspiring ECD practitioners in Soweto. The role focuses on fostering quality childcare, practical guidance, and curriculum development to uplift local ECD standards.

The facilitator will conduct workshops, travel within Soweto and surrounding areas, and maintain records while promoting safety, nutrition, and developmentally appropriate

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Development, Education, Social Work, or a related field.
• Proven experience in facilitating training or workshops, preferably in the ECD sector.
• Strong knowledge of ECD principles, child development stages, and effective teaching methodologies.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage diverse audiences and foster a positive learning environment.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children and communities.
• Organizational skills and the ability to manage training logistics.
• Proficiency in record-keeping and basic reporting.
• Must be able to travel within Soweto and surrounding areas as needed.
• Must be legally eligible to work in South Africa.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and informative training sessions on Early Childhood Development principles and practices.
• Facilitate workshops for parents, caregivers, and ECD practitioners, covering topics such as child health, nutrition, learning stimulation, and safety.
• Provide individual and group support and mentorship to participants.
• Assist in the development and implementation of ECD curriculum materials and resources.
• Conduct site visits to ECD centers or homes to assess needs and provide practical guidance.
• Promote best practices in child safety, hygiene, and early learning environments.
• Maintain accurate records of training attendance, participant progress, and program feedback.
• Collaborate with community stakeholders and partner organizations.
• Stay informed about current ECD policies, trends, and best practices in South Africa.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of ECD programs.
