About the Role

Our client is seeking a nurturing and experienced Early Childhood Development (ECD) Practitioner to join their dedicated centre in Mossel Bay . This role is fundamental in creating a stimulating, safe, and supportive environment for young children during their crucial formative years. You will be responsible for planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. The ideal candidate is passionate about early learning, understands child psychology, and is committed to fostering a love of learning from the very beginning, contributing positively to the educational landscape of the Western Cape .

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver stimulating and engaging play-based learning activities for young children.
• Ensure the safety, well-being, and hygiene of all children under your care at all times.
• Observe and document children's progress, identifying areas for development and implementing appropriate interventions.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's development, progress, and any concerns.
• Create and maintain a vibrant, stimulating, and organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
• Collaborate with other practitioners and staff to ensure a cohesive and high-quality early learning program.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Early Childhood Development (e.g., NQF Level 4 or 5).
• Previous experience working with young children in an ECD setting.
• Strong understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate learning methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for early childhood education.
• First Aid certification is a plus.
