About the Role

Our client, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing early childhood education across Kimberley, Northern Cape, is seeking an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Development (ECD) Consultant. This role is crucial in developing and implementing effective ECD programs, providing training and support to educators, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. You will play a key role in shaping the foundational learning experiences of young children in the Kimberley, Northern Cape region. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate ECD curricula and programs aligned with national standards and best practices.
• Provide training, mentorship, and ongoing support to ECD practitioners and educators.
• Conduct site visits and assessments of ECD centers to ensure quality standards are met.
• Develop and deliver workshops on various aspects of early childhood development, including pedagogy, child safety, and curriculum planning.
• Advise on resource development and utilization for ECD centers.
• Collaborate with community stakeholders, government agencies, and other organizations to promote ECD initiatives.
• Stay updated on research and policy changes relevant to early childhood education.
• Assist in the development of monitoring and evaluation frameworks for ECD programs.
• Prepare reports on program activities, progress, and outcomes.
• Advocate for the importance of quality early childhood education within the community.

Requirements

• A relevant degree or diploma in Early Childhood Development, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the Early Childhood Development sector, with experience in program development and training.
• In-depth knowledge of child development principles, pedagogy, and curriculum design for young children (0-6 years).
• Proven experience in developing and delivering training programs for educators.
• Excellent understanding of national ECD policies and standards in South Africa.
• Strong facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups.
• Proficiency in report writing and basic data analysis.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Northern Cape region.
• Passion for improving the lives of young children through quality education.
