Job summary

Alstom in Nigel, South Africa, is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to lead MBSE-driven railway projects. You will define system boundaries, sizing, and interfaces, and work with stakeholders to ensure robust specifications and successful delivery.

Ideal candidates have an engineering degree, at least 5 years in engineering/technical roles with 3 years in railway projects, strong co-ordination, and proficient English; join a global team delivering greener mobility.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of rail environment and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Participate in system definition and the system sizing.
• Participate to railway system analysis through a MBSE approach.
• Write system specifications and get them approved by stakeholders.
• Participate to system sizing by gathering track, power supply, signalling and rolling stock data.
• Produce or update Interfaces documents in coordination with subsystems and get client approval.

YOUR FUTURE ROLE

• To participate to some system activities (system design, system sizing).
• To define and manage some interfaces between Subsystems either within Alstom contract or with other contractors or partners

POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION –

MAIN OFFICE LOCATION:

• Locatedin Nigel(Ekurhuleni) at theproduction site
• May also be required to visit suppliers and other Alstom sites/offices
• Project team, Construction manager, Subsystem’s engineering managers and installation managers Customer, Consortium Partners, Subcontractors, Consultants

WE’LL LOOK TO YOU TO

• Participate to the System definition and the system sizing
• Participate to the railway system analysis through a MBSE approach
• Write some system specifications and make them approved by all the stakeholders.
• Participate to system sizing by gathering the track, Power supply, signalling and Rolling stock data required for this activity and support the performances optimisation
• Participate to the requirement analysis and development
• Participate to the change analysis
• Produce or update some Interfaces documents in coordination with the subsystems and make them agreed by both subsystems and approved by the client
