Alstom in Nigel, South Africa, is seeking a Railway Systems Engineer to participate in system definition, sizing and MBSE analyses within a multi-disciplinary project team.

You will write system specifications, define interfaces, gather track, power and signalling data, and help optimise performance while collaborating with suppliers, partners and clients.

Proficiency in English and a degree in engineering are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of railway systems and operating requirements.
• At least 5 years of experience in engineering/technical roles, including railway projects.
• Good level of English and contract language.
• Knowledge of the rail environment and engineering practices.
• Good coordination and communication.

Responsabilités

• Participate in system definition and system sizing.
• Participate in railway system analysis through an MBSE approach.
• Write system specifications and obtain stakeholder approval.
• Gather rail track, power supply, signalling and rolling stock data to support performance optimisation.
• Participate in requirements analysis and development.
• Participate in change analysis.
• Produce or update interface documents in coordination with subsystems and obtain client approval.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:

YOUR FUTURE ROLE :

• To participate to some system activities (system design, system sizing).
• To define and manage some interfaces between Subsystems either within Alstom contract or with other contractors or partners

POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION –

MAIN OFFICE LOCATION:

• Locatedin Nigel(Ekurhuleni) at theproduction site
• May also be required to visit suppliers and other Alstom sites/offices
• Project team, Construction manager, Subsystem’s engineering managers and installation managers Customer, Consortium Partners, Subcontractors, Consultants

WE’LL LOOK TO YOU TO:

• Participate to the System definition and the system sizing
• Participate to the railway system analysis through a MBSE approach
• Write some system specifications and make them approved by all the stakeholders.
• Participate to system sizing by gathering the track, Power supply, signalling and Rolling stock data required for this activity and support the performances optimisation
• Participate to the requirement analysis and development
• Participate to the change analysis
• Produce or update some Interfaces documents in coordination with the subsystems and make them agreed by both subsystems and approved by the client

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT

• Graduate Of University Degree in any of Engineering

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge of railway systems, operating requirements
• At least 5 years of experience in Engineering / Technical functions including 3 years in Railway projects
• A good level of English and contract Language
• Knowledge of the rail environment and engineering practices
• Good co-ordination and communication
