About the Role

Our client, a leading online retailer, is looking for an experienced and visionary E-commerce Product Manager to shape the future of their digital product offerings. This hybrid role, based in Paarl, Western Cape, ZA , requires a strategic thinker who can translate market needs and business objectives into innovative product features and roadmaps. You will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch and iteration, ensuring our client remains competitive and meets evolving customer expectations. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of e-commerce technology, customer behavior, and agile development methodologies. This is a critical role for driving product innovation and market success.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the e-commerce platform and related digital products.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and user research to identify opportunities and define product requirements.
• Translate product strategy into detailed requirements, user stories, and product specifications.
• Prioritize the product backlog and manage the product development process using agile methodologies.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer support teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
• Monitor product performance, gather customer feedback, and iterate on features to drive engagement and conversion.
• Define and track key product metrics (e.g., user acquisition, conversion rates, customer satisfaction).
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in e-commerce product management.
• Act as a product evangelist, communicating the product vision and strategy to stakeholders across the organization.
• Manage the product launch process, ensuring all teams are aligned and prepared.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with a significant focus on e-commerce or digital products.
• Proven track record of successfully launching and managing digital products.
• Strong understanding of agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience with user research, market analysis, and competitive intelligence.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Proficiency in product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) and analytics platforms.
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model from our Paarl, Western Cape, ZA office.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; MBA or Master's degree is a plus.
• Experience with front-end technologies and understanding of UX/UI design principles.
