Mirna Butler Recruitment represents a client in Bloemfontein seeking an experienced Short-Term Insurance Underwriter. The role focuses on underwriting, risk assessment for Personal, Commercial and Agri clients, and claims handling using Microsoft OneNote and OneDrive for organised administration.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in the short-term insurance industry, FAIS with NQF 4 credits, RE5, and fluent Afrikaans and English with strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Matric/Grade 12 is required.
• FAIS compliance with NQF Level 4 credits.
• RE5 completed.
• 3–5 years' experience in short-term insurance.
• Experience in Commercial and Agri underwriting is essential.
• Proven ability to handle claims.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft OneNote and OneDrive.
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new business, renewals and amendments to existing policies.
• Handle and manage claims.
• Work with Personal, Commercial and Agri clients.
• Determine appropriate premiums, terms and conditions per underwriting guidelines.
• Maintain accurate client notes and information using OneNote.
• Securely store and organise client and policy documentation using OneDrive.
• Ensure all documents and records are accurate, current and easily accessible.
• Work closely with brokers, colleagues and clients.
• Provide fast, friendly and accurate service.
• Maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
