The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years in the short-term insurance industry, FAIS with NQF 4 credits, RE5, and fluent Afrikaans and English with strong attention to detail.
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Short-Term Insurance Underwriter to join our professional team in Bloemfontein.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the underwriting and management of risks for Personal, Commercial and Agri clients. You will work closely with brokers, colleagues and clients while using modern digital systems such as Microsoft OneNote and OneDrive to ensure efficient, organised and secure administration.
Underwrite new business, renewals and amendments to existing policies.
Handle and manage claims.
Work with Personal, Commercial and Agri clients.
Determine appropriate premiums, terms and conditions in accordance with underwriting guidelines.
Maintain accurate client notes and information using Microsoft OneNote.
Securely store and organise client and policy documentation using Microsoft OneDrive.
Ensure all documents and records are accurate, current and easily accessible.
Work closely with brokers, colleagues and clients.
Provide fast, friendly and accurate service.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
Matric / Grade 12.
FAIS compliant with relevant credits at NQF Level 4.
Successful completion of RE5.
3–5 years' experience in the short-term insurance industry.
Experience in Commercial and Agri underwriting is essential.
Proven ability to handle claims.
Good knowledge of Microsoft OneNote and OneDrive.
Strong computer skills.
Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans and English.
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
