Job summary

Curro Rivonia in Rivonia seeks an English HL, History and Social Sciences Teacher (FET Phase) for a full-time role starting January 2027. The successful candidate will deliver the Curro curriculum across the FET phase and coordinate subjects with focus on knowledge transfer and learner growth. EE preference may apply.

The role requires planning, differentiated instruction, assessments and strong communication with learners and parents. Weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• BEd degree and/or PGCE in FET phase education; honours in education advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as an FET phase teacher.
• Knowledge of the IEB curriculum.
• Proven facilitation, problem-solving and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and planning skills.
• Willing and able to work extended hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Teach duties including lesson planning, workbook setup, and measuring progress.
• Develop term plans, differentiate materials for barriers to learning.
• Create baseline assessments and advise subject choices and remedial plans.
• Manage classroom, assessment rosters, and parent communication.
• Set up assessments and homework with moderation and supervision.
• Plan extramural activities and outings.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and extra lessons.
