Placements24 is seeking a creative and organized Event Coordinator to join its Durban team. You will plan, execute, and analyze a wide range of events, from corporate functions to social gatherings, ensuring every detail aligns with the company’s vision and objectives.

This role requires meticulous timelines, strong vendor relationships, and on-site management to deliver memorable experiences and contribute to Durban’s vibrant local events scene.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Event Coordinator or in a similar role.
• Strong organizational and project management skills for multitasking.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills with vendors.
• Proficiency in event planning software and tools.
• Flexible hours including evenings and weekends for Durban schedules.
• Degree or certification in Hospitality Management, Marketing, or related field is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage budgeting, vendor selection, logistics, and on-site management.
• Liaise with clients to understand requirements and realize their vision.
• Source and negotiate with suppliers (caterers, venues, decorators, AV).
• Develop timelines and coordinate with teams and partners.
• Oversee setup, operations, teardown for a smooth attendee experience.
• Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback for improvement.
