Job summary

Placements24 is assisting a Durban-based family in finding an enthusiastic Early Years Educator and Nanny to provide loving, structured childcare in a home setting. The role emphasizes growth, development, and educational play.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma/degree in Early Childhood Education and has at least 3 years of professional childcare experience, First Aid/CPR, and a valid driver’s license. IsiZulu knowledge is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years professional childcare or educator experience.
• First Aid and CPR certification is mandatory.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Background check and good references required.
• Knowledge of isiZulu is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities and lesson plans.
• Provide direct supervision and care for children, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Manage daily schedules including meals, naps, playtime, and hygiene.
• Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks for young children.
• Encourage positive social interactions and help with emotional regulation.
• Maintain a clean, organized play and living area.
• Communicate regularly with parents about progress and daily activities.
• Organise and supervise outings to parks, libraries, and child-friendly locations in Durban.
• Administer basic first aid and respond to minor health issues.
• Keep accurate records of children's development and activities.
