MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The main purpose of the Driver and Warehouse Assistant is to support day-to-day warehouse and delivery operations. The ideal candidate will assist with receiving, organizing, and dispatching stock while ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. This role requires strong attention to detail, safe driving habits, and a proactive attitude toward maintaining stock accuracy and warehouse efficiency.
DRIVER & WAREHOUSE ASSISTANT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
DELIVERIES & TRANSPORT DUTIES
- Conduct deliveries in the morning and afternoon according to the planned schedule.
- Assist with sorting and planning of daily delivery routes.
- Ensure the company delivery vehicle is always clean, presentable, and roadworthy.
- Collect and return goods from suppliers or customers as required.
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and external partners.
- Ensure all deliveries and collections are accurately logged, and PODs (proof of deliveries) are scanned and filed according to company policy.
STOCK ACCURACY & WAREHOUSE OPERATIONS
- Maintain accurate stock records and ensure all stock movements are tracked in the ERP system.
- Participate in weekly cycle counts and bi-annual/annual stock takes.
- Assist with cycle counts, stock takes, and investigations into discrepancies.
- Ensure stock is packed in the correct warehouse locations.
- Support the accurate reservation, labeling, and organization of inventory.
- Uphold high standards of housekeeping - keeping the warehouse clean, neat, and organized at all times.
RECEIVING, PICKING & DISPATCHING OF GOODS
- Assist with the physical loading and off-loading of incoming and outgoing stock.
- Offload, receive, check, and record all incoming goods (purchases, returns, and transfers).
- Verify all goods received against purchase orders, delivery notes, and packing lists.
- Ensure goods are received and stored in the allocated location within required time frames.
- Assist with picking and packing of all sales orders for collection or delivery.
- Ensure all orders are picked accurately and within allocated time frames.
- Double-check that the stock picked reconciles with the Sales Order or Invoice before dispatch.
- Prepare and dispatch outgoing stock according to delivery schedules, ensuring all documentation is correct.
RETURNS & FAULTY STOCK MANAGEMENT
- Coordinate the return of faulty or damaged goods to suppliers.
- Work closely with the RMA team to ensure customer returns are tested, recorded, and booked correctly.
- Follow up on discrepancies related to incorrect or short deliveries.
GENERAL & ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
- Provide daily reporting and feedback to relevant stakeholders.
- Support warehouse and logistics operations as needed, including assisting casual workers during peak periods.
- Ensure all proof of deliveries and records are filed according to company policy.
- Uphold company values and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS

REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Valid South African driver's license (Code 8 or higher).
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a warehouse and delivery environment.
- Knowledge of stock control and warehouse procedures.

OFFICE REQUIREMENTS
- Office-based working environment.
- Semi-formal dress code.
- Working hours are from 08:00-17:00.

NOTE
- This is a permanent position subject to a successful three-month probationary period.
