Placements24 in South Africa seeks an experienced Drilling Supervisor to oversee on-site drilling operations in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will plan, execute, and monitor drilling activities while ensuring safety, efficiency, and budget adherence.

The role requires hands-on supervision, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of drilling practices. You will coordinate with engineering teams, service providers, and crews to deliver safe wells on time and within environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Drilling Supervisor or similar role in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Extensive knowledge of drilling techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Strong understanding of well control principles and emergency response procedures.
• Ability to interpret geological data and drilling reports.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in reporting and documentation.
• Ability to work in a demanding, often remote environment in Tembisa, Gauteng.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily drilling operations, ensuring safety and efficiency standards are met.
• Develop and implement drilling programs and procedures in coordination with engineering teams.
• Monitor drilling parameters and equipment performance, identifying and resolving any issues promptly.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, including hazard identification and risk assessment.
• Manage and train drilling crews, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of drilling equipment and materials.
• Coordinate with service providers and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of equipment and services.
• Prepare daily drilling reports, including progress, challenges, and recommendations.
• Manage inventory of drilling supplies and spare parts.
