Placements24 is seeking a skilled Drilling Engineer to join the offshore operations team in the Western Cape region. The role focuses on planning, executing, and monitoring drilling campaigns with rigorous safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Drilling Engineer with significant offshore experience
• Proven knowledge of drilling equipment, technologies, and associated risks
• Experience with directional drilling and MPD techniques is a plus
• Strong understanding of well control principles and safety management systems

Responsibilities

• Plan and design drilling programs, including wellbore trajectories, casing designs, and cementing strategies.
• Supervise drilling operations on offshore rigs, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
• Manage drilling fluid systems, directional drilling services, and other drilling operations.
• Conduct daily progress meetings with rig crews and onshore management to report on operations and address issues.
• Perform post-drilling analysis and provide recommendations for future well designs and operational improvements.
• Ensure efficient use of resources and manage drilling-related costs.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the planning, execution, and monitoring of all drilling operations, ensuring compliance with stringent safety and environmental standards.
